Character Information
Name: Leaf
Series: Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen
Appearance: https://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/4/48/FireRed_LeafGreen_Leaf.png
Age: While the entire canon likes to state that all Pokemon Trainers are 10, her character design is obviously not 10, thus I’m going with the idea that she’s 13 at the very least.
Canon Point: Post-game
Canon History: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Leaf_(game)
https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_FireRed_and_LeafGreen_Versions
Canon Personality: Leaf is an adventurous and curious Pokemon Trainer from the quiet little town of Pallet. She seems to be a little too adventurous as her first action is to head into Route 1 without a Pokemon of her own. Unlike her next door neighbor and Rival Blue, Leaf is a kind-hearted trainer as described by Professor Oak himself, willing to take care of her Pokemon rather than push them forward in search of power.
Despite being adventurous and curious, Leaf also has a strong sense of justice and morality. She rejected numerous attempts to be recruited by the villainous Team Rocket and opposed them when she encountered them in the Rocket Casino in Celadon City and their takeover of Sylph Co. At the same time, she does show compassion when needed, aiding the captain of the S.S. Anne with his temporary illness and helping the Pokemaniac Bill is getting him back to normal when he’s accidentally transformed into a Pokemon. Probably the biggest usage of this caring is when she enters Lavender Tower and helps to calm the angry spirit of a murdered Marowak, giving it the rest it finally desired.
Of course, she’s not entirely perfect. There’s always the urge to use items when you shouldn’t and get scolded for it (being yelled at for trying to catch a Pokemon already owned or being told they can’t use items in improper places) and can and will play at the Casino despite it having been ran by Team Rocket
Personality Shifts: N/A
Abilities: Leaf is a normal young girl who is actually quite fit, being able to travel an entire region at times without even actual rest. She does have a strange quirk about being unable to climb up steep cliffs, though.
The two Pokemon joining her DO, though, have abilities. The first is her evolved Starter Pokemon Venusaur, a large Grass/Poison type Pokemon that resembles a dinosaur of sorts. The other is the Water/Flying-type Gyrados, which takes the form of a massive sea beast of sorts. Because of the effects of the island, many of their abilities will incur a heavier drain on their stamina, thus tougher fights or actions will tire them out faster. As well, while Gyrados is shown to float in the air and can also move across water, it will (for some unknown reason) be inflicted with a terrible phobia of going too far from the island, as if something was waiting for it that was terrifying it badly.
Inventory: Leaf carries with her at all times a large shoulder bag that carries her items. It is separated into three sections - Items, Key, and Poke Balls. The Item section contains room to carry healing items and other special doo-hickies (they only have a limited use - 3 to 5 at most, thus there’s a need to conserve). It also seems to be quite bottomless.
The Poke Ball section holds Leaf’s unused Poke Balls of all types. As there are no Pokemon, they won’t be worthwhile.
The Key Item second is the larges and divided between Key Item, Berry and Technical Machine Case sections. The Berry Pouch can hold various berries and seems to be just as bottomless as the Item section. It can be converted to hold other fruits. The Technical Machine pouch holds various devices that can grant a Pokemon one move once (unless they’re Hidden Machines, but she rarely uses those). The Key section holds her more important gear, those that can be used over and over. These include a set of fishing rods (Old, Good and Super), a collapsible Bicycle that seems to be lightweight enough for her to carry around without being cumbersome, the Itemfinder device, which can detect hidden objects through sound (but not what it is and where), the Fame Checker, which can store information on certain people, a Poke Flute, which can awaken sleeping Pokemon, the Silph Scope, a special set of goggles that allows hidden creatures to be discovered, the Teachy TV, a special TV that is attuned to a channel to help Trainers with tips and the VS Seeker, which allows it to find Trainers ready to fight.
Because of the water effects, many of the devices won’t work right - the Bicycle will lose its potency and have trouble folding and unfolding, the Fame Checker will not work reliably with various people, the Silph Scope will malfunction at times and might not even spot invisible things and the Teachy TV and VS Seeker won’t work as there’s nothing around to need them.
